An exhibition that surveyed contemporary painting practice In New Zealand curated by Allan Smith.
‘This exhibition is a cut through a wide stretch of contemporary practice in New Zealand from 1990 to 1995. It serves as a selective overview of emerging and more established directions. The emphasis is on paintings as a response to the complexities of our visual urban world. The exhibition is the largest survey of contemporary painting in New Zealand in over a decade and includes 41 artists and 53 works.
